Tally has lived in the city her whole life. Things are getting good in her life. She has a new best friend named Shay who she met in New Pretty Town while sneaking over and causing a huge commotion. Because of the problem Shay thinks Tally is really tricky. Tally is also turning 16. At 16 you get an operation that turns you into a pretty, what every ugly dreams of. But the day that the operation comes, Shay has run away a week before to the smoke, and Tally goes to Special Circumstances. They say that Tally has to go and find her friend or never turn pretty. So maybe things aren't so good.I love the book Uglies. There are so many things that shock you during the book and I loved every minute the first time I read it. I give it 5 stars easily. Everyone should read it.

I read this book, too, and thought it was five star material, too. The other books in the series are really good, too. Also, you might want to try "The Hunger Games".
