"Hanging on to Max" by Margaret Bechard

Hanging on to Max by Margaret Bechard is about a boy named Sam who is a senior and school is finally almost over for him. he is dealing with a lot, school, collage and a baby. Max is Sam's 11 month old son. Sam, his dad, his aunt and his uncle are all there to help Sam through everything. Later on in the book, Sam confronts another problem, a girl named Clarie, a girl Sam deeply has a crush on also has a child. Emily is Clarie's child and Sam and Clarie are working hard together to pass school and take care of their children.I would rate it 4 1/2 out of 5 starsi would recommend this to middle school and high school students.

It has got to be tough juggling school and parenting. For another good book on this topic, try "The First Part Last" by Angela Johnson.
